The Computer Competency Requirement is made up of tests over five modules:

  • Introduction to Computers (test over either the Windows OS or the Macintosh OS)
  • WWW and Internet Communications
  • Basic Library Research (As of the Fall 2009 students will no longer have to take Module 3 the Basic Library Research module because it will be removed as part of the Computer Competency Requirement.)
  • Introduction to Word Processing and Portfolio
  • Introduction to Spreadsheets and Portfolio
  • Multimedia Presentations and Portfolio

After you have logged into the Test Site, you may either take a Practice Test or a Module Competency Test.

You must score a 90% or higher on each exam and portfolio in order to satisfy the requirement.

Academic Honesty: All work you submit must be your own. If you cheat on an exam or turn in plagiarized work there will be consequences and an Academic Dishonesty Incident Report will be filed. Refer to the Student Handbook for more information about the Academic Integrity Code.

Test questions are randomly generated allowing students to take the Practice Tests or Module Competency Tests more than once without encountering an identical set of questions.
